SetClip Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 July 2026

SetClip is built to run entirely on your device. This policy explains what that means in practice.

What we collect

Nothing. SetClip has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers of our own. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information or any content you create.

Your recordings

Recordings you upload or capture are processed on your device. Audio analysis (finding the high-energy moments of your set) and clip cutting happen locally. Your recordings never leave your phone unless you choose to share a clip through the iOS share sheet, in which case the destination app's privacy policy applies.

Track identification (ShazamKit)

The set-list feature uses ShazamKit, a framework provided by Apple. To name a track, a compact audio signature (not the recording itself) is matched against Apple's catalog. This is handled by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy. SetClip does not receive or retain any information from this process beyond the returned track name, which stays on your device.

Camera, microphone and media access

SetClip requests camera and microphone access only if you use the live Capture feature, and file access only when you choose a recording to upload. These permissions are used solely to create your content and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.

Children

SetClip does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.

Changes

If a future version of SetClip ever changes this model (for example, adding optional accounts), this policy will be updated first and the change will be clearly communicated in the app.
